How to Mint HEX Time Tokens (HTTs)

beginner~13 min readUpdated October 19, 2026

HEX Time Tokens (HTTs) are fungible PRC-20 tokens backed 1:1 by HEX inside a staked position. You mint them on the Actuator website (app.actuator.finance). Each HTT is tagged with a redemption day — the HEX day from which it can be redeemed 1:1 for HEX. The redemption day appears in the token symbol: HTT-3000 becomes redeemable at 00:00 UTC on February 18, 2028 (7:00 PM Eastern, February 17). The Actuator app labels that day 3000; this site’s day counter, which follows the HEX contract, shows 2999. Retiring HTTs against your stake is possible only before that moment. The app numbers every HEX day one higher than this site’s counter: its header, its End Stake Day list, a stake’s End Day line and its Redemption Day box all use the app’s count. A day number taken from this site and typed into the app lands one day earlier. As an End Stake Day, it makes a stake one day shorter. As a Redemption Day equal to the stake’s end day, it gives the day before (the “< End Stake Day” case, with its early-end risk).

HTTs can be minted from either a new stake created through Actuator, or from an existing Portable HEX Stake, an HSI that you delegate to the Actuator contract.

A native HEX stake — one started directly in the HEX contract — cannot be delegated or converted; the app lists it under “HEX Stakes - Native” with no actions. Ending a native stake early to restart it through Actuator costs the HEX early-end penalty.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to create a new HEX stake through Actuator (which automatically creates a Portable HEX Stake, an HSI)
  • How to delegate an existing Portable HEX Stake, an HSI to Actuator
  • How to choose a redemption day and mint HTTs
  • What happens after minting
  • Risks and important considerations

Prerequisites

Key Takeaways

  • HTTs are minted on the Actuator website — no manual contract interaction required
  • You choose the redemption day on a stake’s first mint; while any HTTs minted from that stake are outstanding, every later mint from that stake must use the same day (retiring all of that stake’s HTTs frees the choice). The redemption day determines which HTT series you receive (e.g. HTT-5000)
  • You can mint as many times as you want, in any amount, up to the extractable value of your stake
  • A 1% minting fee applies whenever ACTR is deposited in that redemption day’s vault (paid in the HTT you mint); with no ACTR in that day’s vault the fee is waived
  • You can retire (return) HTTs at any time before redemption day to regain control of the collateralized HEX

Step 1: Go to the Actuator App

Visit app.actuator.finance and click “Connect”. On a wide window it sits top right; on a narrower one it sits inside the ☰ menu, which also holds “Stakes”.

Connect your PulseChain wallet. Make sure your wallet is set to the PulseChain network (Chain ID 369).

Step 2: Create or Delegate a Stake

You have two entry points. Pick the one that applies to you.

Option A: Create a New HEX Stake Through Actuator

If you hold HEX and want to start a fresh stake that is already wrapped by Actuator:

  1. Go to the “Stakes” tab in the Actuator app
  2. Click “New Delegated Stake”
  3. Enter the amount of HEX to stake and choose an End Stake Day, which is a HEX day number, not a length in days. Pick one from the list, or use “Custom End Day” to type any HEX day. The “Stake Details & HEX Metrics” panel shows the resulting Stake Length in days before you submit
  4. Click “Submit” and confirm the wallet transactions the app shows: “Approve Transfer” (skipped when the allowance already covers the amount), then “Create Stake”. When the chosen day’s series has no HTT/HEX pool, or little pool liquidity, the form asks for that warning to be acknowledged before it submits

Actuator creates the Portable HEX Stake (HSI) for you — a self-contained contract holding the new stake — and automatically delegates it to the Actuator contract. You can start minting HTTs immediately.

Option B: Delegate an Existing Portable HEX Stake, an HSI

If you already have a Portable HEX Stake (HSI) that has not yet reached its end day (the contract will not mint against a fully served stake):

  1. Go to the “Stakes” tab
  2. Under “HEX Stakes - HSIs”, find the HSI (the table lists HSIs held by the connected wallet)
  3. If the HSI is not yet tokenized, open its “Actions” menu, choose “Tokenize” and confirm that transaction (“Delegate to Actuator” stays greyed out until the HSI is tokenized)
  4. Open the HSI’s “Actions” menu and choose “Delegate to Actuator”
  5. Confirm the wallet transactions the app shows: “Approve Transfer” (skipped if already approved), then “Delegate HSI”

Your HSI is now under Actuator’s control. You can still revoke delegation (unwrap it back to a standard HSI) at any time, as long as you have retired all outstanding HTTs.

Note: Once HTTs have been minted against a stake, you cannot early end stake or revoke delegation until all HTTs are retired. This ensures 1 HTT is always redeemable for 1 HEX.

Step 3: Mint HEX Time Tokens

Once your stake is delegated (either path above), you can mint HTTs:

  1. In the “Stakes” tab, find your delegated stake under “HEX Stakes - Actuator Delegated”
  2. The table shows your Principal, Accrued Rewards, Available to Extract, and Extracted amounts
  3. Open the “Actions” menu on your delegated stake and choose “Extract HEX Time Tokens” (“Mint HDRN” in the same menu mints Hedron, not HTTs). Mint Hedron before the redemption day: from that day anyone may end the stake, and a stake that has been ended can mint no more Hedron. In the first three days after the redemption day the ender receives no bounty. From the fourth day, whoever ends the stake receives the bounty
  4. Choose a redemption day: the HEX day from which your HTTs become redeemable 1:1 for HEX (the app asks only on a stake’s first mint; later mints reuse that day). The form opens with a day already filled in. It is the first series in the app’s HTT Filters list (by default, series with at least $1,000 of pool liquidity) on or after the stake’s end day and fewer than 630 days past it, or the stake’s own end day when no such series exists. That day can be later than the end day (the “> End Stake Day” row below, with a smaller amount to extract). The list holds only the series that pass the HTT Filters. “Custom Redemption Day” takes any HEX day typed in, including the stake’s own end day as the app shows it on the stake’s “End Day” line
  5. Enter the amount in the “Amount to Extract” box. The box’s limit follows the redemption day chosen. The table’s “Available to Extract” figure is for the series named beside it (for example HTT-3000), so it differs for any other day
  6. The form shows a 1% fee notice when it opens on a day whose vault holds ACTR. The fee itself is charged only when the chosen day’s vault holds ACTR. The form reads the vault of the day it opened on, so after a switch to another day its fee notice can be wrong in either direction
  7. Confirm the transaction in your wallet

You will receive HTT-XXXX tokens, where XXXX is the redemption day you chose (e.g. HTT-5000, HTT-7000).

Choosing a Redemption Day

The redemption day you pick has important implications:

Redemption Day Extractable Amount Risk Recommended For
= End Stake Day Staked HEX + rewards accrued to date, except the rewards of the stake’s final 10% of days (held back for the end-stake bounty) No early-end risk; a stake left un-ended more than 3 days past the redemption day pays a bounty out of your share Most users
> End Stake Day Reduced by theoretical late end stake penalty None extra — you can end the stake from its end day; a stake left un-ended more than 3 days past the redemption day pays a bounty out of your share Users who want a liquid HTT pool that exists further out
< End Stake Day Backed by EES value, not intrinsic value Advanced — subject to Early End Stake by community if you don’t retire HTTs by redemption day Advanced users only

The official docs recommend a redemption day on or after end stake day, which removes Early End Stake risk (docs: Extractable Stake Value).

How Much Can You Mint?

The amount you can mint depends on the Extractable Stake Value for your chosen redemption day:

  • Redemption day = end stake day: Extractable = staked HEX + rewards accrued to date, except the rewards of the stake’s last 10% of days (held back to pay whoever ends the stake late; the minter keeps them when the stake is ended on time)
  • Redemption day > end stake day: Extractable = intrinsic value minus theoretical late penalty; a larger share of the final rewards is held back the further out the redemption day, and the redemption day must be fewer than 630 days after end stake day (at most 629)
  • Redemption day < end stake day: Extractable = the principal (so never zero) plus rewards earned after the stake’s halfway day, to date, except the rewards of the last 10% of the days between the stake’s start and the redemption day; the redemption day can fall no earlier than about 56% of the way from the stake’s start to its end day (5/9 of its length), and only stakes of 179 days or longer can use this option

You can mint in any amount, any number of times, as long as the total never exceeds the extractable value. While any HTTs minted from a stake are outstanding, every further mint from that stake must use the same redemption day; retiring all of them frees the choice again.

Step 4: What Happens After Minting

  • Your underlying HEX stake continues earning as normal
  • You now hold liquid HTTs in your wallet — tradeable on PulseX, PHUX, or any DEX where an HTT pool exists
  • The collateralized portion of your stake is reserved for HTT redemption
  • You can retire (return/burn) your HTTs at any time before redemption day to regain control of the underlying HEX
  • The HEX that was not minted against comes back when the stake is ended. You can end the stake from its end day: “Stakes” → “HEX Stakes - Actuator Delegated” → “Actions” → “End Stake”. From the redemption day anyone may end the stake, and from the fourth day after the redemption day whoever ends the stake is paid first, out of your share: a tenth per day of the stake’s reserved rewards (the rewards of its final 10% of days, a larger share when the redemption day is set after the end day), reaching the whole reserve on the 13th day after the redemption day (End-Stake Subsidy)
  • The remaining HEX stays reserved for HTT holders to redeem

Step 5: Trading or Using Your HTTs

After minting, the HTTs sit in your wallet as PRC-20 tokens. Most wallets show a new series only after it is imported from its contract address (Token Import). The app’s Tokens page (“More” → “Tokens”) shows the balance and has “Copy Token Address” in each row’s Actions menu. The Manual’s Appendix A lists the addresses of the round-thousand series and a few others, with the check that tells a genuine HTT from a lookalike. You can:

  • Trade them on PulseX or PHUX into HEX or other tokens
  • Provide liquidity by pairing HTTs with HEX in a liquidity pool
  • Farm ACTR by depositing HTT/HEX liquidity-pool (PLP) tokens in the matching Actuator farm, where one exists: only a few round-thousand series have a farm (see: How to Farm ACTR for the current list)
  • Hold to maturity and redeem 1:1 for HEX on or after the redemption day, with no deadline (see: How to Redeem HTTs)

Retiring HTTs

If you mint HTTs and later want to regain full control of your stake:

  1. Hold the full amount minted against the stake in that HTT series. A mint that paid the 1% fee left you 99% of it, so buy the missing 1% on the market, or mint it from a small separate stake into the same series: when that series’ vault holds ACTR the mint also pays 1%, so minting the shortfall divided by 0.99 covers it (that small stake then stays locked in the same way until its own HTTs are retired or the stake is ended)
  2. On the “Stakes” tab, open the stake’s “Actions” menu and choose “Retire HEX Time Tokens”
  3. The HTTs are burned and the collateralized HEX is released back to your stake
  4. Once all HTTs are retired, the contract allows an early end or a revoke of delegation. The Actuator app’s End Stake item stays greyed out until the stake’s end day, and its HSIs table has no end-stake action. An early end therefore runs through “Revoke Delegation” (the HSI comes back tokenized), then “Detokenize”, then a staking frontend that can end an HSI. The HEX early-end penalty applies

Important Notes & Risks

  • 1% minting fee — charged in the HTT being minted whenever ACTR is deposited in that redemption day’s vault, and paid to those vault depositors; with no ACTR in that day’s vault the fee is waived (see: ACTR Vaults)
  • Minting is fee-free while that redemption day’s vault is empty — the 1% goes only to ACTR deposited in that day’s vault, so any mint made while no ACTR is deposited there pays no fee (official FAQ). A brand-new series usually starts that way, but not always: anyone can create an HTT before its first mint and deposit ACTR in its vault. The flip side: a brand-new series has no trading pool either — the mint form warns, for a series with no HTT/HEX pool, that “You may not be able to sell the extracted tokens,” and no market exists for that series until someone supplies a pool
  • Redemption day before end stake — if you choose a redemption day before your stake ends, you risk having your stake Early Ended by the community if you don’t retire your HTTs by redemption day
  • Late end stake — a stake not ended within 14 days of its end day is charged the HEX late penalty when it is finally ended: about 1% of principal plus rewards for each week past that 14-day grace, reaching the whole stake 714 days (102 weeks) after the end day
  • HTT liquidity — not every HTT series has a liquid trading pool; the app’s Pools page lists the pools, and the mint form warns when a chosen series has little or no pool liquidity
  • Public Data, Not Financial Advice — Actuator’s contract addresses are published in the official docs (docs.actuator.finance/contracts)
